They are usually a healthy mix of protein, carbs and healthy fats and an easy go-to for lunch or dinner. There are so many different ways you can build your bowl, but here is my favorite. The important thing to remember is protein, healthy fat, fiber, and greens- with all those elements you have a perfect meal! Pick one from each category and you have a complete meal.<\/p>\n<p>Pick a Protein:<br \/>\n4 oz grilled chicken<br \/>\n4 oz grilled or saut\u00e9ed shrimp<br \/>\n6-8 oz grilled or saut\u00e9ed firm tofu<br \/>\n2 eggs<\/p>\n<p>Here are your Greens:<br \/>\n2 cups saut\u00e9ed spinach<br \/>\n1-2 cups raw arugula<br \/>\n1-2 cups steamed broccoli<\/p>\n<p>Add a Fibrous Carbohydrate:<br \/>\n\u00bd cup quinoa<br \/>\n\u00bd cup brown rice<br \/>\n\u00bd cup beans or lentils<\/p>\n<p>Add a Healthy Fat:<br \/>\n1\/3 avocado<br \/>\n1 tablespoon olive or sesame oil<br \/>\n1 ounce walnuts or almonds<br \/>\n1 tablespoon sesame or sunflower seeds<\/p>\n<p>Directions: Prepare each item individually, place in bowl and drizzle with your favorite sauce (optional). If you are cutting back on carbohydrates then double your greens and omit the starchy carb.
